Is your local district at risk for an outbreak?

In many South Dakota counties and voting districts, our rates of protection against disease (also known as community immunity) are below safe thresholds. We invite you to review and share the data for your local House and Senate districts. Keep in mind that even if your local area is well-immunized, disease travels across borders. We need everyone to get their vaccines so we’re all protected, especially infants, the elderly, and those who can’t be vaccinated because of a medical condition.

If you’d like to get involved in helping to educate our friends and neighbors about vaccine safety, public health, or if you’d like to advocate for public health in our public policy space, we hope you’ll sign up for updates from South Dakota Families for Vaccines and get involved as a volunteer leader.

Thank you to the South Dakota Department of Health for providing annual data on rates of immunization for South Dakotan kindergartners and Immunize South Dakota.
